"The greatest thing a human being ever does in this world is to see something... To see clearly is poetry, prophecy and religion, all in one." ~Ruskin

Hope is not something you see in your own eyes, have you ever noticed? No one has ever seen hope in their own eyes. I know no one who truly knows what they look like when they light up with hope because usually those moments are in the thick of self-reflection pondering a question teeming with life's quandries or when deep in discussion with another person. Yet, we know what it looks like in others, don't we? We can remember hope in the eyes of our fellow human beings, maybe it is captured in a photo, but I think not; that is usually anticipation. No, seeing the hope in our own eyes is what must underly all our faerytales, all our life's stories and adventures. You will have to write it into your thoughts, draw those eyes onto your heart just how you imagine yourself, gleaming with hope. I feel it as I write. Hope underscores every word, every world, every faerytale.

I feel it as I sketch, knowing my imaginings will have to suffice in the aggregation of all the hopeful eyes and hearts I have seen.

I have seen, in order to know my own hopeful eyes, watching my own progress, at being me.

Those eyes I have known, they become part of mine and no longer is it "I hope." it is we hope. It is our hope. I see my hopeful eyes. I see my hopeful "I."

Absolutely beautiful, and so well said. I like how you point out that hope and anticipation are different. It is really interesting to ponder and then put it into a drawing. It is astounding to see this translated this way. Love it!

Ask anyone who knows me, I am not high maintenance, so never think that I wouldn't visit out of a problem. If there is one, I address it instantly with kindness. You are one of the dearest people I have met in bloglandia and I visited yesterday at Castles and found your cool Nocturne place and commented! It was such fun to see. Be secure in my kind and grateful thoughts towards you dear friend. You are a treasure. Blessings and light on all you do and think.

Amy dear,
You know, there have been some computer problems lately and maybe that is what happened! There are a couple of blogs that when I visit them, disappear before my eyes and become advertisments! Oh how the unnecessary things of this world love to creep into what is beautiful and poetic!!!! Merci my friend...ANita
