Hope is not something you see in your own eyes, have you ever noticed? No one has ever seen hope in their own eyes. I know no one who truly knows what they look like when they light up with hope because usually those moments are in the thick of self-reflection pondering a question teeming with life's quandries or when deep in discussion with another person. Yet, we know what it looks like in others, don't we? We can remember hope in the eyes of our fellow human beings, maybe it is captured in a photo, but I think not; that is usually anticipation. No, seeing the hope in our own eyes is what must underly all our faerytales, all our life's stories and adventures. You will have to write it into your thoughts, draw those eyes onto your heart just how you imagine yourself, gleaming with hope. I feel it as I write. Hope underscores every word, every world, every faerytale.
I feel it as I sketch, knowing my imaginings will have to suffice in the aggregation of all the hopeful eyes and hearts I have seen.
