"Love, joy, and bliss are terms used for describing that highest of all powers, but delight has the advantage

of being used in our everyday language to express the smallest and simplest of pleasures." Out of the Blue by Hansen, Nichols and Hansen.
I was asked recently why I say blessings so often and see the world as I do. I am sure the story of it has many beginnings, avenues that converge onto this life of exuberance. I could never know all those amazing streets again. The ones filled with tingling excitement, the rain-filled gutters washing with sound, the ones with light-streaming ribbons forming arrows through the leaves above, as they softly whisper, “Notice, Notice.” I have fallen into delight, with living, with seeing, with all that is this journey. The closest thing to expressing this feeling is in the book, Out of the Blue. There was a point a few years back, even before finding this book, that I realized that “I do not only belong to me.” As said in Out of the Blue, “We are each a thread in the tapestry of life, and without your gifts, your weaving of your own thread, the tapestry will be incomplete.” So, my thread has blessings, of which I am ever aware, of which I will always remember, and as I get up each day and thread my needle, I choose the gilded, never-ending, thread. The thread that helps someone smile because maybe for them, it was soft and strong that moment they met me on the sidewalk. Or maybe it was sparkling when the day seemed devoid of light. Your choosing as you rummage through your thread box could mean all the difference, not just to someone else, but, it always will end in a day well spent, mended, glorified. Giving of yourself, giving blessings to all you encounter, this does not lessen the color of your lot. Living with vivid exuberance maybe the only thing that replenishes the spirit of your story, clears and makes splendid the paths of your life. Last night, I watched as my husband told of his day at work and he was splendid. He told of difficulties in communication, of space and open-mindedness and how efficient the path became when he never stopped rethreading his needle with hope of completing the task however possible. So, watching his peace, the sweet lines of his face as he sat in the rocking chair we got him for an occasion one year, I saw blessings. I could not see anything else, for all we have is our choice to see this world as unbounded joy, and that is all we need.
I was asked, isn’t that outlook, naïve, even less than realistic. I mean, Amy, you might be perceived as ignorant living with bliss! I do not think so. I think the greatest intelligence, if I may be so bold in saying this, is living in delight. Finding the joy around the corner, under the bush. “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” Albert Einstein once said. I quote here this thread.
“Remember that your glow is never a threat to their glow, just to their darkness. You may actually be able to dispel their darkness with your light. Their negativity may have become a strait jacket of the spirit, limiting their perceptions…Personal blessings are a form of delight and a perfect way to spread delight to others in your life regardless of their receptivity. Hold the image of the person in your mind, and using the person’s name, say, ‘I bless you and see the best in you.’ The person does not even need to know that you are sending blessings their way…” What a thread to weave in… what a gift to yourself and the person you are caring about… So, this is what I mean, this is a glimpse into what I mean when I may say, “Remember you are the writer of your own story, you are the creator of your own fairytale happy ending…” It is your thread, pick-it up, enjoy the process and know that it all lies before you waiting to be found, this delight. It lays before you waiting to be found…

Hello my bloggy friend! WooHoo!!! Party day is just a week away! I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's creative spaces. I have a request... I thought it would be easier for everyone to leave comments if we all turned off comment moderation and word verification during the day (or maybe week) of the party. To do that, go to customize, settings, comments...then scroll down to turn off comment moderation and word verification.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and a fabulous week. See you next Friday!!
